Trampolines during winter & extreme weather

Trampolines are crazily fun outside activities. Watching tricks and flips or even just kids jumping around is a great joy of life. However, when it comes to uncontrollable condition, weather especially, there are few tips we want to let you know.

In winter and windy weather

When winter turns everything into pure white, it's cheeky, sometimes dumb, to have a snow ball fight. Or, gusty wind blowing outside, siting in the warmth of the house, you wonder the safety of your beloved trampolines. The question is, how to take care of it?

  • Disassembly-It is always the easiest solution, yet, it strongly depends on your storage place. Remove the safety netting, springs, jumping mat and soft frame pads. Leave the poles that hold the netting into place, and the metal frame to which the springs and mat attach, standing in the yard.

But, what if you have no place to put your trampoline parts, and the heavy snow slowly but surely build on your mat. You worry will it do any harm.

  • Winterization-Getting prepare for winter only is important for bears but also for your trampolines. Remove frame pads and stock them in dry place. Water can go through the jumping surface to the bottom. Sometimes, when snow accumulate on the mat, it's your job to clear all the unnecessary freezing of water, in case it over-stretch your mat. Just remember don't use hard or sharp objective to clear the snow. Or, put a soft cushion down the pat to relief the stress.
  • Windy-Anchored down, if not, trampoline can be a safety hazard. Specialized anchor kits that include stakes that attach to the frame can help secure the trampoline to the ground. Another option is to dig trenches in the ground before the initial placement of the trampoline.
